President, Geety, Blair & Araya, P.A. : August 1983 – Present (28 years). Full service accounting firm, including income tax preparation for individuals and businesses for over 700 clients, business formation and set up, accounting systems setup and training, small business accounting, management consulting, CFO outsourcing and personal financial planning.
President, Accountants' Workflow Solutions, Inc. : October 2010 - Present (8 months). We are a start up company that is bringing to market a workflow solution that we have developed and have been using in my practice for over 10 years. It is a Microsoft based application and encompasses all of the functional areas of the accounting firm (taxation, payroll, accounting services, and practice management). It incorporates "Best Practices" based upon process reengineering utilizing a paperless environment. It is independent of software products. It doesn't change how you perform your underlying functions, just how they are tracked. We released the software in May 2011.
In her early professional career, Katrina was employed by Deloitte, Haskins and Sells in audit, business process management, systems development and management consulting. She eventually moved into senior management positions in IT for corporate and accounting systems. She leveraged this consulting and systems experience to develop optimal workflow processes and the Accountants' Workflow Solutions application for internal use in her CPA firm.
